Calories: 11 per servingCategory: Condiment1. Combine 1/2 cup water and blackberries in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring and mashing as berries soften.
2. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Line a mesh sieve with a jelly bag or nut milk bag and place over a bowl. Pour the berry mixture over the sieve. Press with a spoon or spatula to push the juice into the bowl. You should get about 2 cups of juice (add water to reach this amount if you don't get enough).
4. Meanwhile, pour the remaining 1/4 cup water into a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatin powder into the bowl. Stir together, then set aside to bloom for at least 5 minutes.

Estimated Reading Time: 5 mins1. With a sharp serrated knife, slice off the rind from the grapefruits and carefully remove the sections of fruit. Do this over a bowl to catch the juices. After you've removed the flesh, squeeze the pulp to get all of the juice. Discard any seeds. You should have about 1 quart of fruit and juice when you are done. Mine weighed just under 2 lbs.
2. Weigh out an equal amount of sugar. I used slightly less than an exact equal amount of sugar: about 1 1/2 pounds.
3. Finely mince the habanero peppers, seeds and all. I did this in my mini food processor. Make sure it's finely chopped, and then add it to the fruit. Be careful, the fumes will be strong, and if you handle any part of the cut pepper you need to wash your hands well.
4. In a heavy bottomed non-reactive pot put the juice and fruit, peppers, sugar, vinegar and pectin. Stir to combine and heat to a boil.

How do you make low carb and keto jam?

This easy and delicious keto and low-carb jam really hits the sweet spot! 1 cup fresh berries of your choice (I used 1/4 cup each, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, & blueberries) preferred sweetener, optional (equivalent to 1-2 tablespoons sugar or to taste) Place berries and sweetener in a small pot over medium-high heat.

What is the difference between habanero and jalapeno jellies?

I made a batch of both Jalapeno and Habanero jellies. The jalapeno has a fairly mild great flavor and the habanero is also great flavor and hotter than heck. The fumes while blending and cooking the habaneros is no joke.

Whats in a jar of habaneros?

I used 4 oz of habaneros (1 small bag), 2 1/4 c sugar, 1 c vinegar (white, cider, and white balsamic), a handful of (frozen) raspberries, and 1/2 sachet of extra strong pectin (Gelfix 3:1 from Germany). Made three 12-oz jars. Nice consistency. First comes the raspberry flavor, then a mild burning sensation.

What do you make with habanero plants?

I usually make a spicy jalapeño jelly and sweet red pepper jelly. They and bright, colourful and wonderful as a treat. Spread some jelly on a cracker with cream cheese for a delicious appetizer. My dad grew a bunch of habanero plants and had a massive harvest.
