WebAuthenticator works with any account that uses two-factor verification and supports the time-based one-time password (TOTP) standards. Your organization might require you to use the Authenticator app to sign in and access your organization's data and documents.
WebThe authenticator app asks for a verification code as a test. From the Microsoft Authenticator app, scroll down to your work or school account, copy and paste the 6-digit code from the app into the Step 2: Enter the verification code from the mobile app box on your computer, and then select Verify.
WebTo set up the Microsoft Authenticator app Sign in to your work or school account and then go to your My Account portal. Select Security info in the left menu or by using the link in the Security info pane. If you have already registered, you'll be prompted for two-factor verification. Then, select Add method in the Security info pane.
WebOpen the Microsoft Authenticator app, go to your work or school account, and turn on phone sign-in. When you tap on the account tile, you see a full screen view of the account. If you see Phone sign-in enabled that means you are fully set up to sign in without your password. If you see Enable phone sign-in, tap it to turn on phone sign-in.

WebSelect the checkbox next to Authenticator app, and then select Configure. Open the Authenticator app, select the plus icon and select Add account, and then select Work or school account , followed by Scan a QR Code. If you don't have an account set up in the Authenticator app, you'll see a large blue button that says Add account.
WebMicrosoft account If you get an email from Microsoft account team and the email address domain is @accountprotection.microsoft.com, it is safe to trust the message and open it. Microsoft uses this domain to send email notifications about your Microsoft account.

Or, after installation, to enter the product key, select the Start button, and then select Settings > System > Activation > Update product key > Change product key.
