Slice the habanero peppers and remove the seeds and white pith (please wear gloves!). Coarsely chop the pineapple, peppers, cilantro and onion and place in a high speed blender. I use my Nutribullet for this. Add the lime juice, zest, apple cider vinegar, garlic cloves, salt and sweetener. Blend until smooth.
The Habanero pepper has a slightly fruity flavor. It registers between 100,000 and 350,000 Scoville heat units on the Scoville Scale. That's milder than a ghost pepper but hotter than cayenne, serrano, and jalapeño peppers, making it one of the hottest chiles you'll find. There's more to a habanero than just the magnitude of the heat.
If you find yourself dousing your dishes in spices, consider adding this homemade habanero chili paste to your fridge condiment drawer. It’s a flavorful alternative to incorporating dried herbs and spices into your dish. It tastes fresher and, in my opinion, is more potent than dried spices.
