1. Heat oil in a cooking pot.
2. Once the oil gets hot, deep-fry the cubed tofu until it turns crispy. Remove from the pot using a kitchen strainer. Put in a metal colander or into a plate lined with paper towel. Set aside.
3. Combine vegetable broth, soy sauce, onion powder, and cornstarch in a bowl. Stir until all the ingredients are well blended. Set aside.
4. Scoop 3 tablespoons of oil from the pot where the tofu were fried. Pour it in a clean pan. Heat the pan on a stove top.
