1. Preheat oven to 350°F/177°C. Line an 8x8 inch square baking tin with baking paper. Set aside.
2. Cream together the butter/coconut oil and sugars in a large mixing bowl with an electric or stand mixer. Mix in the egg and vanilla. Stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
3. Add the almond flour, starch, baking soda and salt until combine. Add the dry ingredients to the sugar mixture and mix in on a low speed until a dough forms. Stir in the chocolate chips with a spoon or rubber spatula.
4. Transfer the dough to the lined baking tin and spread evenly across the bottom and sides of the pan.
