DirectionsStep1Place the chocolate pieces in a bowl and heat up in the microwave until almost completely melted. Stir until smooth.Step2Place the hazelnuts in a blender and blitz until the mixture thickens but is not silky smooth. If you are using a high speed blender do this on a very low speed (it should take only about a minute).Step3Add the melted chocolate, cocoa and powdered sugar into the blender and whizz briefly just to combine.Step4Transfer the spread into a jar and chill before using. If you keep it in the fridge too long and the spread solidifies simply microwave it for a few seconds and give a good stir to loosen the consistency.Step5Store in a cool place for up to 5 daysIngredientsIngredients10.58 ouncesHazelnuts (blanched, see Notes below)3.53 ouncesDark Chocolate (with 50-60% cocoa solids, chopped into similar size pieces)1 tablespoonCocoa Powder (cacao)1 ½ tablespoonsPowdered Sugar (icing sugar)NutritionalNutritional217 Calories20 gTotal Fat9 gCarbohydrate0.3 mgSodium4.4 gProteinFrom everydayhealthyrecipes.comRecipeDirectionsIngredientsNutritionalExplore furtherChocolate Nut Spread Tarlets - Cadbury Kitchen on …youtube.comHomemade Chocolate Hazelnut Spread (Dairy Free, …deliciouslyorganic.netBetter Than Nutella (Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread) - Bon …bonappetit.comChocolate Hazelnut Spread: Is it Healthy? - Food Networkfoodnetwork.com11 Easy Recipe Ideas for Chocolate Hazelnut Spreadaromamama.comHomemade Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread - Allrecipesallrecipes.comRecommended to you based on what's popular • Feedback

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°. Place the hazelnuts on a baking sheet and roast for 13-15 minutes, until golden brown. Transfer the nuts to a clean, lint free kitchen towel and cover with the edges to steam and loosen the skins.
    2. Once cool enough to handle, hold the towel with the nuts forming a pouch. Using the palm of your other hand, firmly and quickly rub the hazelnuts forcing the skins off. Do this for 30-60 seconds until most of the skins have been removed. Separate the hazelnuts from the skins, placing them in a blender or food processor. Discard the skins.
    3. Blend the hazelnuts on low speed for 8-10 minutes until it turns into nut butter. You will likely need to scrape the sides of the container down a few times. You will notice it first becomes a paste before you eventually notice the oil releasing from the hazelnuts and it becomes a creamy nut butter.
    4. While the nuts are blending, melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Stir in the maple syrup, vanilla, and espresso powder until combined. Once the nuts are blended pour the chocolate into the blender with a pinch of salt, and blend until combined.

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spread the hazelnuts on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast for 12 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through.
    2. Remove the hazelnuts from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes.
    3. Add the still warm hazelnuts to your food processor. Process on high until the nuts turn into loose, fairly liquid butter, about 10 minutes, stopping to scrape the sides and bottom of the food processor bowl a few times during this process.
    4. Add the remaining ingredients to the food processor. Process on low for a few seconds, then process on high until very smooth, about 3 more minutes, scraping the sides and bottom twice.
