Greek halva is a simple Greek vegan dessert made with semolina. Have you ever made a bowl of Cream of Wheat cereal and not been able to eat it right away? Maybe you had to tend to a fussy baby, a pesky telemarketer or a parcel delivery (hurray for on-line shopping).
Make Halva spread by mixing 1 cup tahini paste, 1 cup whole milk, 1 cup powdered sugar, ¼ cup oil (any light tasting oil or sesame oil), and ¼ cup dry milk. You can substitute some or all of the dry milk with cocoa powder for a chocolate halva spread. This spread should be stored in the fridge for no more than 3-4 days. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
This recipe and macros are for simple halva (N.B. photos show sesame seeds halva with a few pistachio nuts added in). You can easily customise halva by adding nuts, seeds, chocolate, coffee, spices, or any other flavourings that you fancy experimenting with.
