Arrange apples on top of rolled out dough – leave any excess juices behind so you don’t end up with a soggy galette. Fold in dough edges to form your crust – carefully grasp 1 edge of dough and fold up 2 inches over apples.
This simple apple-cinnamon galette is easy to make thanks to premade pie crust—no need to make your own dough! Serve it for Thanksgiving dessert or after any fall meal. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the crust on top.
Using two spatulas, carefully transfer the baked galette (still on parchment) to a wire rack and let tart cool for 10 minutes. While the galette cools, combine the apricot jam and 2 teaspoons of water in a small glass bowl. Microwave for 15 to 20 seconds or until bubbling. Brush over the apples.
Galettes need the same kind of apples that an apple pie would need — baking apples. Baking apples have a firm texture that stands up well to heat. Some of those most common ones are Granny Smith, Fuji, Honey Gold, Gala, Cortland, and Braeburn.
