Total Time: 40 minsCategory: AppetizersCalories: 507 per serving1. Spicy Murukku is a delicious snack recipe, which can be prepared at home using some easily available ingredients. Here’s how you go about preparing this tasty snack recipe. Take a large bowl and add brown rice flour, gram flour, roasted black gram flour, red chilli powder, asafoetida powder, butter, salt and sesame seeds. Then mix all the ingredients together.
2. Then, add little water and mix well to form a thick, pliable dough. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Add some of the dough to a murukku maker. Place it over the hot oil and press gently to make concentric circles from the center to outward.
3. Then take another pan and heat oil over medium flame. Be extra careful as Murukku tastes best when fried in very hot oil, this gives it a nice crispy texture. Fry on both sides until golden brown. Remove and drain excess oil by using paper towels or tissue papers. Store in an airtight container and eat whenever you want with coconut chutney or a dip of your choice. Serve as a snack or with a meal.
