Sprinkle a thin layer of flour onto a clean spot on your countertop. Place your dough on the flour and spread it out a bit with your hands.
Or, if you're feeling adventurous, you could make homemade Amish egg noodles using the noodle recipe from my chicken pot pie. Roll out the dough and allow it to dry for at least an hour or two before cutting it into noodles. You can make Amish butter noodles in different ways and they are all tasty.
Amish noodles come in different widths, and it doesn't matter which size you use. Personally, I like the wide noodles the best. The extra-wide noodles are a bit too big for my taste, but use whatever you prefer. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, you could make homemade Amish egg noodles using the noodle recipe from my chicken pot pie.
These Amish-style noodles are delicious with lots of brown butter. Cooking them in the brown butter gives them a depth of flavor, but feel free to stir in more brown butter after the noodles are finished cooking. Reames frozen noodles are also delicious noodles, but they don't work well with this recipe.
