Melomakarona-Greek honey cookies are a delicious Christmas dessert. With orange zest, cinnamon, and olive oil, they are dipped in a honey syrup and sprinkled with crushed walnuts; they are an irresistible sweet treat.
Melomakarona is the traditional Greek Christmas cookies, soaked in honey syrup with walnut topping. In a saucepan add water, sugar, lemon & orange slice, cinnamon stick. Boil for 5 minutes over medium to high heat. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
