3. Pour the olive oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook for 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon or spatula. Season the meat with the cumin. Cook until the beef is brown: about 6 to 7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.
4. When all of the ingredients are ready to go, simply stir all of the ingredients into a slow cooker. Season with salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste, then place the lid on the crock-pot and cook on HIGH HEAT for 4 to 6 hours OR on LOW HEAT for 6 to 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
