2. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter until creamy. Add brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla extract. Beat until blended.
3. Fold in flour, heath bits and pecans (optional).
4. Press dough into ungreased 10 x 15 jelly roll pan.

1. Preheat oven to 350º. Line 8 x 8 inch pan with non-stick foil or regular foil sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
2. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat and continue cooking, swirling pan occasionally, till it just turns brown and smells nutty. You do not want it to burn, so watch carefully.
3. Combine brown butter and brown sugar. Beat for a couple minutes till well combined, then add egg and beat till batter becomes smooth. Mix in vanilla. Mix in flour, salt and baking soda till just combined. Fold in Heath bar and chocolate chunks. Spread into prepared pan and smooth top. Bake for 20-25 minutes or till edges start to pull away from the sides of the pan.
4. Cool, then cut into bars to serve.
