Category: BrewingServings: 1Estimated Reading Time: 8 mins1. Chop the peaches into a large bowl or half-gallon mason jar. Cover the peach slices with sugar, and stir every few minutes. The sugar will extract the peach juice in about 1-2 hours.
2. Drain the peach juice into a fermentation vessel, and then use water to wash the peach pulp to remove the last bits of sugar and peach juice. Pour the water through a fine-mesh strainer and fill the fermenter to about 3/4 full, leaving space for the remaining ingredients.
3. Brew a cup of strong black tea, remove the tea bag and add about 1/2 cup of the strongly brewed black tea into the fermenter. (Or just add winemaking tannin.)
4. Add 2 tbsp of lemon juice into the fermenter. (Or just add 2 tsp acid blend for winemaking)

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you make peach wine?

My peach wine recipe is easy to make, and super tasty! Siphon, siphon tubing. Wash peaches and chop them into small chunks. Add peaches to a large pot. Add sugar, stir well. Cover and let it sit for a few hours, stirring every once in a while. After about 2-3 hours, the sugar should have nicely macerated the peaches.

How much sugar do you put in a peach juice?

Pour 3 pounds of sugar on your peaches and stir in a large bowl. You can extract more juices with the help of an (almost) boiling water. Don’t hesitate to put in more sugar.

Why does my wine have a higher alcohol content with peaches?

Your wine’s final ABV will vary wildly dependent on a few things: The initial sugar content of the peaches you use, how much sugar you add, and what kind of yeast you use (more on that in a bit) Any amount of sugar will result in a higher alcohol content than making the same wine without sugar added.

Can you use frozen peaches for peach wine?

If you have rotten peaches, expect the wine taste to follow. Although you’ll be using frozen peaches later in the process, we suggest starting with fresh peaches (straight from your peach tree!) and then freezing them for better quality. Some people like keeping the skin on for a better peach wine color.
