Total Time: 25 minsCategory: Side DishesCalories: 375 per serving1. Dal Puri can be prepared easily at home. Soak moong dal for two-three hours. Then rinse well and drain the excess water. If you want to make it the next day, you can also soak the dal overnight.
2. Take a pan and add one cup of water. Add the dal and cook covered for 10 minutes or till the dal is slightly cooked but not mushy. Take a large bowl and add moong dal after draining out the water. Then add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, garlic, green chilli and onion. Grind them into a thick smooth paste. If you want to accentuate the taste of this recipe, then replace regular refined oil with ghee. This will add to the aroma and make the dish more flavoursome.
3. Take a bowl, add all-purpose flour and ghee. Now add water to make a dough. While adding water you need to be careful, simply because adding too much water at a time can spoil the taste and texture of the puri. It is always advised to sprinkle water while kneading. Then, make small balls out of the dough and add a spoonful of the prepared mixture. Roll into puris. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame and deep fry the puris till golden brown in colour.
4. Remove the excess oil by placing puris on tissue paper and serve hot with a side dish of your choice. Do try this recipe, rate it and let us know how it turned out to be.
