3. Pour the caramel layer over the crust. Let it cool on the counter before placing it in the freezer. When the caramel is completely set, we prepare the chocolate layer.
4. For the chocolate layer: melt dark chocolate and butter in a microwave or double-boiler. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted then pour the chocolate over the caramel layer. Use a spatula to flatten it.

Cool for 10-15 minutes then pour onto prepared shortbread.
3. Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments until softened. Add butter to the chocolate and whisk the melted chocolate and until creamy. Pour onto the cooled caramel layer. Gently shake the pan from side to side to help it spread.
