DirectionsStep1Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.Step2Bring a 5-6 quart pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook for 5 minutes. The pasta should still have a bite to it after it cooks. This helps keep the pasta from getting mushy.Step3Drain the pasta and rinse. Place the pasta into a 9 x13 baking dish.Step4Mix ricotta cheese, egg, romano or parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Stir in the crushed red pepper if you're using it.Step5Mix the ricotta cheese mixture and spaghetti sauce in with the pasta. Start with 3-cups of sauce and add more if you need to. The pasta should be covered with sauce and cheese mixture.Step6Sprinkle mozzarella over the top of the pasta mixture.Step7Cover with foil and bake for 55 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and the baked ziti is bubbling on the sidesIngredientsIngredients1 poundPenne Pasta (or dry ziti, whole grain or organic)1 15-ounce containerPart-Skim Ricotta Cheese (drain excess liquid)1 Large Egg½ cupParmesan Cheese (grated, can also use grated romano cheese)1 teaspoonGranulated Garlic1 teaspoonOnion Powder1 teaspoonItalian Seasoning½ teaspoonSalt½ teaspoonPepperadd pinchRed Pepper (crushed)4 cupsSpaghetti Sauce (homemade or high-quality jarred sauce)2 cupsLow-Fat Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)See moreNutritionalNutritional382 Calories15 gTotal Fat44 mgCholesterol40 gCarbohydrate21 gProteinFrom organizeyourselfskinny.comRecipeDirectionsIngredientsNutritionalExplore furtherBetter-For-You Baked Ziti - Food Networkfoodnetwork.comThe Easiest Baked Ziti - Lauren Kelly Nutritionlaurenkellynutrition.com5-Ingredient Easy Baked Ziti Recipe - Food.comfood.comGrandma's Baked Ziti - Vegetarian casserole, 5 ingredientstrialandeater.com5-Ingredient Baked Ziti (Gluten Free Option) - The Real …therealfooddietitians.comRecommended to you based on what's popular • Feedback

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with oil spray.
    2. In a large pot of salted water, cook pasta according to instructions until al dente (I like to under-cook it 3 or 4 minutes as it will cook more in the oven). Drain and return to pot.
    3. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, add olive oil and sauté garlic. Add chopped spinach, salt, pepper and crushed tomatoes. Season with basil, oregano, salt and pepper and cook 5 minutes.
    4. Add sauce to the pasta and combine. Add half of the mozzarella, Parmesan cheese and ricotta. Mix well then transfer to the baking pan.

    1. Preheat oven to 350. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Boil ziti until al dente- approximately 6 minutes. Check your pasta box and I would suggest to cook ½ the time they recommend. Remember, the ziti will continue to cook in the oven!
    2. While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a separate pan. Brown the turkey until completely cooked (approximately 10 minutes) + set aside.
    3. In a mixing bowl, mix together 1 cup of mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan cheese, basil + pepper. Toss the cooked ziti with the cheese mixture and stir.
    4. Stir in ground turkey, tomatoes + spices to pasta/cheese mixture. Pour pasta mixture into 9x13 baking dish. Sprinkle remaining cup of mozzarella cheese on top of the pasta mixture.
