1. Rinse your barley thoroughly under running water and place in the Instant Pot.
2. Add bay leaf, onion powder, salt, and water to the Instant Pot. Stir well.
3. Close your Instant Pot and set the steam release valve to "Sealing". Select the "Pressure Cook" button and set to cook for 24 minutes at High Pressure.
4. Once the cooking time is up, quick release the Instant Pot. Using a towel or wooden spoon, carefully switch the steam release valve to “Venting”. Allow all steam to escape. Once the float valve has gone down, carefully open the Instant Pot.

3. Release the pressure - When the pressure cooker completes the cooking cycle, do a quick pressure release. If you've got a lot of liquid in the pan, you may wish to drain most or all of it. Return the pot to saute, and add the diced ham if using. Saute stirring occasionally while preparing the eggs.
4. Prepare the eggs - Prepare your eggs your favorite way. When the eggs are ready, add the greens to the pot, and stir to combine. You just want to wilt the greens.
