1. Preheat overn to 350 degrees.
2. In the bowl of an electric mixer cream the butter well. Blend in brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla. Slowly add in the flour, and mix until just combined. Fold in the 1 cup of Toffee Chips and pecans if using. Press dough into an ungreased 15x10 inch jelly-roll pan.
3. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven, and immediately sprinkle with the crushed Heath Bars. Cool for 10 minutes - slice into bars. You can remove from pan to cool, or leave in the pan. But you want to cute while still warm, or they are very hard to cut through.

1. Preheat oven to 350º. Line 8 x 8 inch pan with non-stick foil or regular foil sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
2. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat and continue cooking, swirling pan occasionally, till it just turns brown and smells nutty. You do not want it to burn, so watch carefully.
3. Combine brown butter and brown sugar. Beat for a couple minutes till well combined, then add egg and beat till batter becomes smooth. Mix in vanilla. Mix in flour, salt and baking soda till just combined. Fold in Heath bar and chocolate chunks. Spread into prepared pan and smooth top. Bake for 20-25 minutes or till edges start to pull away from the sides of the pan.
4. Cool, then cut into bars to serve.
