Using the grill, sear the sirloin tip steaks about 3-4 minutes per side, or longer if you prefer the steaks to be medium rare, about an additional 1-2 minutes per side, if at all possible. If you prefer, wait until you reach a temperature of 145 degrees or hotter.
The sirloin tip is a relatively lean muscle that is best prepared by marinating it and cooking it fast to medium rare temperature. Sirloin tip marinates extremely well and is ideal for stir-fries, fajitas, or teriyaki marinated steak. It is also excellent for grilling.
