1. Heat a stockpot over medium heat. Add oil and garlic, cook for 1 minute. Stir in chili paste. Add canned tomatoes and vegetable broth to the stockpot and season with oregano, pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
2. Bring tomatoes to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low and add pasta.
3. Once pasta begins to soften, stir and cover the dish with a lid. Continue to cook on medium-low for an additional 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until pasta is al dente, the liquid has reduced and has thickened.
4. Stir in shrimp and cook for another minute or two or until the shrimp have turned pink.

3. Add the wine to the pan, along with the lemon juice and chili flakes and let it boil until slightly reduced. If you are using cooked shrimp, add it now, along with the parsley.
4. Stir in the butter, a bit at a time. Return the pasta to the pan, and toss well. Add some of the reserved pasta water if you need more sauce.
