How To Make Chicken Dhansak – Step By Step Prepare all the ingredients (Image 1). In a bowl, add chicken, oil, curry powder, paprika, turmeric, salt and lemon juice and mix well (Image 2). Soak the lentils for 15 mins (Image 3) and discard the water. Transfer to a pressure cooker, add water and cook for 10 mins or until nearly cooked.
Dhansak curries can be made with red meat, chicken or prawns and this version is probably the quickest, ready in just 30 minutes. I first published this recipe several years ago but now I have updated with more comprehensive instructions, Slimming World modifications, step photos plus a recipe video.
Here a few easy recipes: Thepla, rava dhokla, khandvi, nariyal ke ladoo, balushahi, mysore pak, malpua, jalebi, basundi, rasgulla to name a few. Dhansak Mutton is a must try and preparing this dish is very simple. Here’s an easy way of preparing this delicious recipe.
Best toppings for dhansak. 1 Freshly sliced pineapple. 2 Fresh coriander leaves or a sprinkle of ground coriander. 3 A squeeze of lemon juice with zest. 4 Add the chicken with slices of fresh red or green chillies, or some chilli powder for extra heat. 5 Add a sprinkle of garam masala at the end. 6 Add a tbsp of mango chutney for a tangy twist.
