3. As you work, work in such a way that peeled apple never rests for long outside the water, to prevent discolouration.
4. Put drained apple slices in a large pot.

3. Bake the apples in the oven for 25-30 minutes until soft. The apples should be soft enough that you could mash them with a fork.
4. Carefully remove the baked apples from the oven. Let cool slightly, then remove peels.
