It is also sometimes called a crumble. Crumble: Crumbles are very similar to crisps, but the name originated in England. Both contain fresh fruit and are covered with a streusel topping that gets baked. Crumble toppings, however, usually do not contain oats, whereas crisp toppings do.
Sprinkle the crumble mix on top of the filling and bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes, until golden. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving. Top with No-Churn Vanilla Ice Cream, Crème Anglaise, yogurt, whipped cream or coconut cream or coconut yoghurt for dairy-free.
Some cold ice cream over a warm berry crumble is to die for. I use the low sugar ice cream (Halo top is the brand in my area, but there are other good brands). Check out the video for a great way to grate the butter into the crumble topping.
