Blueberry Cream Cheese Breakfast Braids are filled with sweet, fresh blueberries, creamy cream cheese, and zesty lemon. They are extremely easy to whip together and only require a few ingredients.
Lightly flour the dough, then roll it out slightly with a rolling pin to create a large rectangle. Assemble the braid: Spread the cream cheese mixture in the center of the dough, leaving about a 3” border on each side. Spread the blueberries over the cream cheese mixture.
Because we always have tons of blueberries in the freezer, I’m always on the look out for new low carb blueberry recipes. I often just make a sugar free blueberry syrup that I’ll use over low carb waffles or pancakes. I also pour this blueberry sauce over low carb ice cream and mix it into plain high fat yogurt.
Toss the blueberries with the tablespoon of flour, lemon zest, and teaspoon of sugar. Place the blueberries over the cream cheese mixture. Make diagonal cuts into the dough, starting where there is not cream cheese and stopping when you get to the cream cheese center.
