I usually use dried cranberries because that is the easiest thing to find when it's not November or December. Fresh cranberries will add a tart flavor to the cake, which will slightly change the flavor profile. Also, you won't need to rehydrate fresh cranberries. What can I use to substitute Bisquick? No problem if you don't have Bisquick on hand!
