How To Make Berry Infused Vodka. Use your favorite berries to infuse vodka for a variety of cocktail recipes. Ingredients. Instructions. Add fruit to a clean 1-quart canning jar. Fill jar with vodka until the fruit is completely covered. Seal the jar tightly and allow to infuse for 3-5 days on the counter, out of direct sunlight.
You really only need 3 main components: a 1-quart canning jar, vodka, and berries. Fill your jar with berries, cover with vodka, seal, and wait. When you’ve allowed the vodka to infuse for 3-5 days (3 was my preference), strain it and remove all the fruit and seeds.
I prepared the glass by running a wedge of lemon around the rim, then dipping it in low carb sweetener (you could use Lakanto or Swerve). Then I made the base of the drink by adding two sliced strawberries, lemon slices, fresh basil leaves, lemon juice and the sweetening syrup to a cocktail shaker, then using a muddler to crush everything down.
Add your herbs to your jar and bruise with a long wooden spoon to release the some of their oils. Add your limes and peels and cover the vodka. Place your lid on the jar and set in a cool dry place. Test after a few days to see if desired taste. Mine took a week but yours could take less or more time depending on your taste.
