Recipe for Vanilla + Brown Sugar Body Scrub. Body Scrub Ingredients: 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/2 cup white sugar (or 1 full cup of brown sugar) 1/2 cup coconut or olive oil. 1 tablespoon vanilla extract.
I keep a little jar of this vanilla coconut sugar scrub right by my bathroom sink to use on my hands, elbows, and even my lips (it tastes yummy!). However, I would not recommend using this on your body as the coconut oil is a bit too heavy and might leave you feeling a bit greasy.
I highly recommend using a softer sugar (such as: organic white or brown sugar) for homemade scrubs. The abrasive nature of more natural sugars (sucanat, coconut sugar, raw sugar) may leave the skin irritated and red. Raw Honey: Raw honey is simply honey that hasn’t been pasteurized.
We recommend using non-fractioned coconut oil (non-liquid) to gain the most therapeutic benefit. The vitamin E oil adds a bit more softness when using your scrub and provides a natural preservative to the recipe.
