Well… Penne pasta are these cool shaped little tubes… but the tube is pretty wide. Alternatively, the hole in the middle of macaroni (also a little tube) is much more narrow. Macaroni is curved whereas penne is straight. Why is it called penne pasta?
Ingredients
penne pasta is used for thicker sauces , the larger size means that thick sauce can get inside . macaroni is a lot thinner. but it doesnt really matter imo .... its what it tastes like that counts ! . shoot me but my itallian ex boyfriend used to say its all the same - just comes in different shapes !
