A vinaigrette dressing is a refreshing mix of oil and vinegar, citrus flavors, or both. Spices, herbs, salt, and pepper add additional flavor to a vinaigrette. I make all kinds of homemade vinaigrette dressings. Two of my favorites are this Summery basil vinaigrette, which is great on almost everything, and this crumbled blue cheese vinaigrette.
Here’s a simple recipe or olive oil and vinegar salad dressing that can be made in a couple minutes. Add balsamic vinegar to a jar with lid. Add garlic, pepper, and salt. Put lid on mason jar and shake to mix dressing. Place Dijon in next and shake again to mix. Lastly add the olive oil. Allow to sit for around an hour so flavors meld together.
If you are not a big fan of red wine vinegar, the recipe works with apple cider vinegar for a traditional keto vinaigrette recipe. Sugar-free maple syrup – optional, but it adds a lovely sweet flavor to the dressing. You can also use crystal erythritol, but it doesn’t dissolve as well in the salad dressing.
