1. Preheat oven to 250°F. Take chicken wings out and pat dry. In a small bowl, mix together the baking powder, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, chili powder, paprika and black pepper. Place wings in large bowl and add dry rub mixture, then toss to coat evenly.
2. Line a baking sheet with foil, then place a cooling rack on the foil. Spray the rack with oil spray. Place wings on rack in a single layer with skin side up.
3. Bake for 30 minutes at 250°F. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F and bake for an additional 50 minutes to 1 hour, rotating the tray halfway through. Remove from tray and let stand for 5 minutes.
4. While wings are baking, heat large sauté pan or skillet over medium heat. Add BBQ sauce, honey, butter, ketchup and garlic powder. Reduce heat to low and cook until sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and toss chicken wings until coated.

1. Saute the onion, garlic, olive oil and apple together in a medium sized saucepan until the onions and apples have softened.
2. Add the crushed tomatoes.
3. Simmer together until the sauce is reduced by 1/4 , then add all of the remaining ingredients for the sauce.
4. Simmer all together over low heat for about a half hour or until the sauce reaches the consistency of a good barbeque sauce. I like mine a little thicker than most because it is easier to brush on whatever is being grilled. Puree the sauce to make it extra smooth if you prefer. I always do.
