Can you use coconut essential oil for soap?

Makes hard, white, unscented bars with a fluffy lather and gentle cleansing action on your skin. 16 oz / 454 g / 1 lb batch — 20% superfat and a 30.5% lye solution

Can you make soap with olive oil only?

When you create soap with only olive oil (Castile soap), the batter takes quite a while to come to trace. Castile soap also takes longer to harden in the mold than most cold process recipes that contain hard oils like palm or coconut.

How do you make a good bar of soap?

Soapmakers are taught that to make a good bar of soap, you need to choose several oils. Olive oil is a common one, as is shea butter, but probably the most common is coconut oil. The idea is that coconut oil soap is very hard and very bubbly but that it can be overdrying, so you need to balance the recipe with milder oils.

How much cleansing is in a bar of olive oil soap?

Soapcalc tells you that a 100% bar of olive oil soap has zero cleansing. This is not correct. 100% olive oil soap is very mildly cleansing, but it is cleansing. So new soapmakers get really hung up on that because they take it literally.
