1. Rinse moong dal under tap water a few times to get rid of any dust and grit. Transfer the rinsed lentils to a bowl and add hot water to the bowl.
2. Soak the lentils in hot water for 20 minutes. Lentils will swell in size.
3. After the resting time, transfer the lentils to a strainer and drain the water. Rinse the lentils thoroughly under running water for a couple of minutes. Set aside to drain. Make sure the daal is drained thoroughly.
4. Add ghee to a heavy-bottomed pan. Transfer the lentils to a pan.
