Most lip balm recipes use two main types of ingredients: wax or butter and carrier oil. For this version, we used organic cosmetic-grade beeswax pellets. You can also grate solid beeswax bars, but be sure they are safe for cosmetic use. We also used coconut oil, which melts at a low temperature but also solidifies quickly.
The lip balm itself looks like half a sphere when you open the cap with another half of the sphere in the bottom of the container. DIY cannabidiol (CBD) lip balm usually mixes any of the base ingredients with a few drops of topical CBD oil for a calming effect after use. Hemp oil lip balm gives you more CBD than tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
You can also customize the color of your homemade lip balm using natural or artificial colorants, and you can use shea butter, cocoa butter, or another base, depending on what texture you prefer. It makes a great gift. Thanks to its wide appeal, DIY lip balm makes a unique homemade gift.
