Category: CookiesCuisine: AmericanTotal Time: 25 mins1. Line a large baking sheet with a silicon mat or parchment paper. Set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a standing mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter until it comes together in one lump, about 1 minute. Add in the sugars and beat for another 1-2 minutes, or until the sugar dissolves into the butter. Lower the speed to medium-low, and mix in the eggs and vanilla and beat until mixed (the batter will be lumpy). Gradually add in the flour mixture, beating until a little flour remains. Fold in the chocolate chips with a rubber spatula.
4. Divide the dough into 12 even pieces. Shape the dough roughly into a ball, but do not roll it. Place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes but up to 12 hours before baking.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are levain bakery chocolate chip cookies?

These Levain Bakery Chocolate Chip Cookies are a copycat recipe made with simple ingredients, resulting in gigantic cookies that are crisp outside and gooey inside. They cost much less and are super delish!

Is it ok to bake levain cookies at a lower temp?

Yes, perhaps this isn’t the cookie recipe if you don’t like them gooey on the inside–that’s the classic hallmark of a Levain cookie! Reply L October 9, 2022 at 3:27 am Hi – maybe bake them at a lower temp = I baked all mine at 180C and adjusted the times until I am happy. The lower temp might just not bake up the crispiest outside but I loved mine.

What is the difference between bravetart and levain?

Both recipes resulted in slightly drier, craggier, grainy-looking exteriors that more closely resembled the top of a Levain original vs. the more smooth, rippled top of other recipes. Bake time: Bravetart had one of the longest bake times and was able to retain a gooey center while also ending up with the most picturesque, golden crust.
