Basic Lip Balm Formula 1 3 parts carrier oil (liquid oil) 2 1 part beeswax* (I tend to use a smidge more than this, but it depends on the recipe) 3 1 part solid butter (optional & adjustable) 4 optional, essential oil (start with 1 to 2 drops per tablespoon or 1/2 ounce of ingredients, adjust as desired)

Because kokum butter is firm, you’ll want to melt it before whipping. On its own it will be too stiff, so you can use it at 5% or more in combination with a softer butter like coffee or avocado to make the recipe more balanced. Liquid oils like argan or meadowfoam feel nice in body butter recipes as well.
