Then add the vanilla extract and the milk. Mix this until just blended as it is important to to not overmix the batter. If you are adding chocolate chips gently fold them in using a rubber spatula.
4. Set the batter aside (I often place my batter in the refrigerator if I will be taking longer than twenty minutes to make my pancakes).
