1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the chicken breasts in the hot oil and cook until browned on one side, about 3 minutes. Flip the chicken and add the onions; cook another 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes, garlic salt, and water to the chicken; stir. Season with 1 1/2 teaspoon garam masala. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2. Stir the remaining 1/2 teaspoon garam masala through the mixture. Raise heat to medium and bring mixture to a boil. Cook until the chicken no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 5 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

1. Cut the chicken into bite sized pieces and place it into a large bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients for the chicken and toss to combine and coat well. Cover with plastic wrap and set in the fridge to marinate for at least half an hour before cooking.
2. Melt two tablespoons of the butter over medium high heat in a large high sided skillet on the stove. Place the marinated chicken into the skillet and cook on both sides until almost completely cooked through. Remove the chicken and keep warm.
3. Add another two tablespoons of butter to the skillet, and mix in 1 tsp minced garlic, 1 tsp cumin, 3 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp chili powder, 2 tsp of ginger paste, and onion. Stir to combine and cook for 30 seconds.
4. Reduce the heat to medium and pour the crushed tomatoes and heavy whipping cream into the skillet. Simmer until the sauce has thickened.
