1. Peel and devein the shrimps if required, leaving the last tail segment on. If using frozen shrimps, thaw them by soaking in tap water for 10 minutes. Marinate the shrimps with 1 tsp chili powder and 3/4 tsp salt for 10 minutes.
2. You will need 3 plates or wide, shallow bowls. Place the flour in the first bowl, eggs beaten with a dash of salt and pepper in the second and panko breadcrumbs in the third.
3. Take the remaining 1/2 tsp chili powder, mix half of it with the flour and the other half with the breadcrumbs. Do the same with paprika, if using. Add a few pinches of salt to the flour.
4. Coat each shrimp with the flour, quickly dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
