Blossom Cookies are classically a cookie with a Hershey Kiss placed on top of the cookie right as they come out of the oven. There are many variations on the Blossom Cookie, like my Chocolate Peppermint Blossom Cookie or the classic Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies. This Chocolate Blossom Cookie is one of my favorite versions.
They are the white chocolate candy cane cousins of Peanut Butter Blossoms and are perfect for cookie exchanges and cookie plates. If peppermint and chocolate is your ultimate holiday flavor combo, then we should definitely be friends.
The rich chocolate flavor comes from melted chocolate mixed with sugar cookie dough in these candy-topped cookies. Heat oven to 350°F. Let dough stand at room temperature 10 minutes to soften. In large bowl, break up cookie dough. Add cooled chocolate and flour; stir with spoon or hands until well blended.
If you press the peppermint kiss into the hot cookies immediately after removing them from the oven, chances are that your kisses won't hold their shapes at all and will turn to puddles in the center of your cookies. Delicious, mint-flavored puddles, mind you, but they won't look quite as nice.
