This is a very slight adaptation from the recipe on the package of Bob's Red Mill cornmeal. Stir together corn meal, flour, salt, baking powder and sugar with a wire whisk until well-blended. Add milk, egg and butter and stir until dry ingredients are just moistened. Do not overmix. Pour into 8" square greased square pan or similar sized round pan.
