DirectionsStep1Place the onion on a cutting board and slice off the top of the onion.Step2Turn over the onion and just barely trim off the roots.Step3Turn the onion back over and cut the onion into 4 quarters, being very careful to stop within 1/2 inch of the root.Step4In each quarter section, make 3 additional cuts. Continue making cuts until you have 16 total cuts.Step5Put the cut onion into an ice bath for at least 1 hours. This helps the petals open up.Step6Take the onion out of the ice water and pat dry.Step7In a small bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs and milk.Step8Place the onion in the egg mixture, gently open the petals, and spoon the egg mixture down inside each petal.Step9In another small bowl, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, flour, creole seasoning, garlic powder, and salt and pepper.Step10Take the onion out of the egg mixture and place the onion in the dry mixture. Use your hands to sprinkle the dry mixture down inside the petals and press the mixture onto the outside of the petals.Step11Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.Step12Place the onion onto a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil that has been lightly greased with a small amount of oil.Step13Create a tent with additional foil and loosely cover the onion. Bake covered for 5 minutes, remove the tent, and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes.Step14Mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, paprika, and wing sauce.Step15Hollow out the top of the baked onion in order to fit a small container of the dipping sauce in the blooming onion.Step16Sprinkle a small amount of additional paprika on top of the dipping sauce, if desired.Step17Serve immediately while the onion is warmIngredientsIngredients1 Large Onion2 Eggs (lightly beaten)¼ cupWhole Milk⅔ cupPanko Breadcrumbs1 teaspoonCajun Seasoning (or creole)½ cupAll-Purpose Flour1 teaspoonGarlic Powder½ teaspoonSalt½ teaspoonPepper⅓ cupMayonnaise2 tablespoonsSour Cream¼ teaspoonPaprika2 tablespoonsWing Sauce (or Buffalo)See moreNutritionalNutritional625 Calories40 gTotal Fat194 mgCholesterol49 gCarbohydrate623 mgSodium16 gProteinFrom cottageatthecrossroads.comRecipeDirectionsIngredientsNutritionalExplore furtherBaked Blooming Onion with Spicy Dipping Sauce - My …mycrazygoodlife.comEasy Baked Blooming Onion Recipe Wicked Spatulawickedspatula.comBaked Blooming Onion {Healthier Bloomin' Onion} VIDEO!!!thecookierookie.comCrispy Onion Blossom Recipe Trisha Yearwood Food …foodnetwork.comBest Baked Bloomin' Onion - How to Make a Baked …delish.comRecommended to you based on what's popular • Feedback
