2. Brown the butter as described above. Use a heavy sauce pan for best results set on medium heat. Cook until the butter starts to foam and turns a deep golden color with a nutty aroma- approximately another 5 minutes after the butter is melted). Then allow the butter to cool at room temperature.
3. Meanwhile, while the butter is cooling, place the flour, salt and brown sugar alternative in a mixing bowl. Stir in the the cooled brown butter, egg and vanilla until just mixed. 4. Bake until golden, about 20 to 25 minutes or until the edges begin to brown, being careful not to over-bake. Cool completely before cutting.
