All I wanted was a really simple recipe for easy gluten-free low-carb bread made from ingredients you can find from almost every grocery store, or at least every health food store. A bread, which is easy to vary and makes a nice base for sweet and savory toppings alike. Finding the best ratio between these simplest ingredients took looong time.
While loaves are rising, preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Whisk the egg white and brush over the top of loaves. Bake for 25 – 30 minutes. Several people have asked if this Italian bread can be prepared in a bread machine. We were able to test it successfully and have provided the instructions below.
