When you buy the good stuff (the right brand), tahini is DIVINE. Not only is it low in carbs (only 1g net carbs per 2 tbsp serving), but it has this smooth, nutty, unmistakable flavor. It is seriously good stuff. I feel like I don’t see tahini used enough in keto recipes and I aim to change that with this post.
Some tahini recipes add oil, but I prefer my tahini to be oil-free. It doesn’t need anything other than sesame seeds and maybe a pinch of salt! Hulled sesame seeds can be found at most large grocery stores.
A high-speed blender such as a Vitamix or Blendtec Designer will alsodo the job with ease. But if you don’t have high-speed equipment, you can still make tahini. It just may not be as creamy and take a little extra time. Make garlic sesame seed paste.
