Ken & Hisae from Sun Noodle stop by the Cooking Hawaiian Style kitchen and show us how to make fried saimin using their own brand of saimin noodles. Be sure to watch their episode on Cooking Hawaiian Style. Boil a medium pot of water. Fry the vegetables until brown. Add the spam, fishcake, and cha shu and half of the dashi pack.
Regular saimin is more like soupy noodles but fried saimin is dry with lots of adding. Let’s learn about the fried saimin recipe. Hawaiian style fried noodles are always my favorite.
Add a bit more oil to the empty saucepan, and then add in the saimin noodles. Stir fry for 2 minutes (longer for more crisp noodles, less for softer noodles). Add in half the seasoning packet and mix well so that the seasoning is evenly distributed. Add the Spam/kamaboko/carrots back in the pack.
The Saimin is eaten very hot with chopsticks or spoons, and the broth is then drunk from the bowl. Do not be afraid to slurp, as there is simply no quiet way to eat Saimin. The prep time really varies, depending on what toppings you choose.
