How to make the recipe Wash beetroots under running water. Bring milk to a boil. Heat a pan with ghee, add nuts. To the same pan, add beetroot and fry until it turns aromatic for about 2 to 3 minutes. Pour the thickened milk and cook till the milk is absorbed completely. Add sugar and cardamom powder. Cook till the moisture evaporates.
In a kadai or deep thick bottomed pan combine milk and grated beetroot. On a low to medium flame, bring the whole mixture to a boil and then simmer. Keep on stirring at intervals when the mixture comes to a boil and later simmers. The grated beetroots will cook in the milk and the milk will start to reduce and evaporate.
