Heat oil to 375 degrees F. Meanwhile, cut fish into stick shapes, about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long. Pat dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. To make the beer batter, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, paprika and seasoned salt.
2 Mix panko, flour, beer, salt and parsley. 3 Heat oil in deep frying pan. Dredge fish into batter and then put into hot oil. When browned, flip over and then remove onto paper towels.
Pat fish dry; refrigerate while making batter. Whisk 3/4 cup flour, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper in a shallow dish; set aside. Whisk the remaining 1 cup flour and baking soda in a medium bowl. Add beer and egg and whisk until smooth (the batter should be thick).
This lightly seasoned beer batter is easy to make and makes perfect crispy fish for fish and chips. Beer Battered Fish is one of our favorite ways to make fish at home. Who can resist that crunchy coating and the perfect flaky fish? Not me! Serve with homemade tartar sauce! We have a summer fishing/camping tradition.
