  1. Grease a 13X9 baking pan or rimmed baking sheet and preheat broiler or oven. If broiling, adjust oven rack to top position.
  2. Lay sliced tomatoes on prepared pan. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place tomatoes under broiler for 8-10 minutes, rotating pan halfway though. The tomato edges will start to char and blister.
