This Mexican Torta or Torta Mexicana is a popular Mexican sandwich with crispy breaded chicken (chicken milanese), cheese, refried beans, guacamole, and pickled peppers.
Just 3 easy steps and a Mexican torta is ready to serve. Start by cooking up the beef. In a non-stick pan or skillet, add some oil and place it over medium heat. Once hot, add the sliced beef and cook for 3-4 minutes, until no longer pink. Add the taco seasoning, along with 2 tablespoons of water and cook until most of the water is absorbed.
Cut the bolillos lengthwise and then spread mayonnaise on one side. The second step is to add a tablespoon of refried beans on top of the mayonnaise. Then add the crispy chicken schnitzel Milanese to the refried beans. Now sprinkle the chicken with: Put the top of the bolillo on the guacamole and you are ready to serve your Mexican tortas.
Now a good bread for a Mexican torta is the french bread, open your bread by making a slit in one of its sides. Spread some mayonnaise in one of the slices and the refried beans on the other. You can find the Mexican Bread recipe HERE. Now place the fillings of your choice, in this case, I used ham and fresh cheese ( queso fresco).
